WORKING WITH THE MAN AGAIN – JOHNSON SHELL V-POWER RACE TEAM RE-SIGNS WITH PENSKE TEAM

Despite having sold out of the Dick Johnson Racing operation several years ago, automotive industry Tsar, Roger Penske is clearly still keen on supporting the Johnson team in its on track Supercar exploits.

Penske has announced this week that it has  renewed its strategic partnership with the Shell V-Power Racing Team, with Penske saying it further strengthens the collaboration between the two iconic names in motorsport and performance.

Penske said  that this renewed partnership will see a continued focus on its MAN brand trucks.

The company said that since the inception of the partnership, MAN trucks has played a pivotal role in supporting the logistics and operational demands of the Shell V-Power Racing Team.

According to Penske Australia and New Zealand, these high-performance vehicles have been instrumental in ensuring the team’s equipment and resources are delivered seamlessly across the country, enabling the team to consistently perform at the highest level on and off the track.

CEO of the Shell V-Power Racing Team, David Noble,  expressed his enthusiasm for the ongoing collaboration,.

“Penske Australia and New Zealand, alongside MAN, have a long and successful history with our team,” said Noble.

“Our partnership has been united in building sustained success with a focus on continuous improvement and  the synergy between us is strong, and continuing the journey with Penske demonstrates the passion we both share with motorsport,” he said.

“This is a wonderful relationship that we share, and to extend this agreement into 2025 and beyond is extremely exciting for us. We look forward to sharing future success with Penske.”

Hamish Christie-Johnston, managing director of Penske Australia and New Zealand, said the delivery of a brand-new MAN to the team mid-last year was one of many key milestones in the extensive partnership to date.

“The all-new MAN TGX prime mover delivered to the Shell V-Power Racing Team features the powerhouse 640hp engine, boasts excellent driver fit, great efficiency and economy, and optimises uptime,” he said.

“As with the team’s performance on the race track, MAN combines power, efficiency, and safety into an innovative and impressive package.”

Penske added  that as a carbon-neutral race team, the partnership will not only enhance the team’s operational capabilities but also focus on showcasing MAN’s advanced technology and efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
