Supercars has announced it has extended its partnership with truck maker Kenworth, making the brand one of the the racing category’s longest standing sponsors,
Two new Kenworth prime movers were delivered to Supercars on the Gold Coast last week, which signals Kenworth’s continuation as what Supercars describes as the ‘Official Heavy Duty Truck Partner’ with the agreement being extended until at least the end of 2025, which will make it the 26th consecutive year as a partner of Supercars.
Supercars says that as part of the partnership, Kenworth provides transportation support to every Australian Supercars event with the extensive Supercars calendar meaning the support trucks travel more than 35,000 kilometres each season.
As part of the extended partnership Supercars says that Kenworth will continue to deliver two specialised trucks that serve critical functions during Supercars events.
Supercars took delivery of both a Kenworth T610 and K220, which both come equipped with Kenworth’s optional suite of safety systems, including adaptive cruise control, stationary vehicle braking, collision mitigation, driver alerts, lane departure warning, highway departure warning and braking autonomous emergency braking (AEBS) & multi lane autonomous emergency braking.
The T610 prime mover also comes equipped with the Euro 6 engine that boasts next generation emission standards via the Euro 6 platform, optimised to maximise fuel efficiency.
As part of the deal Kenworth has also retained the exclusive rights to the official Kenworth Drivers Parade at the Repco Bathurst 1000 which it has had since the parade’s inception in 2006, making it one of the most anticipated traditions of the four-day event according to Supercars.
Supercars CEO Shane Howard said that it is delighted to extend the partnership with Kenworth as the Official Heavy Duty Truck of Supercars.
“Kewnworth’s unwavering support and dedication have been instrumental in the success of our events for over 20 years,” said Howard.
“We look forward to the next chapter of our partnership, delivering world-class experiences to our passionate fans,” he added.
Paccar Australia’s director sales and marketing, Michael Long, said the company was thrilled to be continuing to support Supercars with two new Kenworth prime movers as part of the long-standing relationship.
“The partnership between the two organisations is in its third decade and continues to grow, creating excitement for everyone who’s involved,” said Long.
