Scania Australia has announced that it has hired a new national fleet sales manager with Mark ten Broeke returning to Scania Australia after a seven-year away.
ten Broeke will be based in Brisbane and will cover the east coast, joining managers Steven Alberse and Phillip Mayfield and reporting directly to sales director Dean Dal Santo, as the company aims to break the1,000 annual sales again, following a frustrating 2019 which saw sales hampered by supply issues.
ten Broeke worked for Scania for 15 years prior to departing to broaden his industry knowledge with Japanese and American brands.
“I always believed that Scania could be a major player in Australia, and more than 10 years ago Scania Australia had a plan for selling more than 1,000 trucks a year here, and it has achieved that despite the interruption of the GFC,” ten Broeke said.
“I have a passion for the Scania product, and now with the combined benefit of the suite of services we can provide to fleet customers, the Scania story is compelling.
“With everything from finance and insurance to repair and maintenance contracts, connected and driver services and the strength of a company-owned nationwide network of selling and servicing dealers, Scania is able to deliver a unique set of benefits to fleet operators across the country,” he said.
“Scania’s offer is sophisticated, innovative and focused on delivering significant financial and operational advantages to our customers, be they national or regional fleets.
“And with the success of the New Truck Generation in Australia, Scania has proven itself capable of adapting its state-of-the-art product line-up to meet the needs of a diverse range of applications, from extreme heavy-haul and interstate line-haul, to medium-duty urban distribution, and a host of vocational tasks as well.
“I am looking forward to catching up with a few familiar faces, but also taking the Scania story out to fleet operators who have not yet had the chance to sample the complete Scania package, or appreciate exactly what we can offer in terms of improved uptime and total operating economy,” Mark said.
“As the leading provider of sustainable and low emission alternative and renewable fuel engine options, Scania can also provide answers for fleets looking to reduce their carbon footprint,” he said.
“I welcome Mark ten Broeke’s return to the Scania team, particularly to the National Fleet Sales Manager role,” said Dean Dal Santo, Scania Australia Sales Director.
“With Steven Alberse and Phillip Mayfield already on board, we have a strong team of experienced, enthusiastic and knowledgeable managers who understand the demands of the fleet business. With our suite of services and the extremely successful NTG range, Scania is perfectly positioned to provide operating benefits to fleet owners across Australia,” he said.\
“Mark adds depth to our team as well as intimate knowledge of a broader range of the market, given his seven years spent working for non-European brands. I wish him every success in this new role,” Dean said.
