Former Daewoo Bus general manager Lou Riccardi has joined Yutong Australia as general manager.
Riccardi, who worked for many years with Asia Motors as the Daewoo distributor and then joined White Commercial Vehicles as general manager of its attempt to refloat the Daewoo brand after Asia Motors collapse, has now signed on with Yutong to help drive the Chinese brand’s sales and growth down under.
The CEO of Yutong Australia, Neil Wang, said Riccardi’s experience and drive will be a key and vital role in the growth of Yutong in Australia.
“Having worked for over 30 years in the Australian bus industry, Lou brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this new role as general manager,” he said.
Arguably the most successful Chinese bus brand in Australia, Yutong has had strong growth as a factory owned operation and signing Riccardi it hopes will enable its growth strategy, focusing on sales, back-up and customer service and driving Yutong’s footprint in Australia according to Yutong.
Riccardi will also be responsible for directly driving and supporting sales with national key account customers as well as supporting and strengthening Yutong’s dealer network, team management and developing strategies to support the uptake of the company’s range of buses.
Riccardi will be based at Yutong Australia’s head office in Campbelltown in Sydney.
Yutong Bus’s new general manager says he was delighted by the exciting new opportunity.
“I look forward to working closely with our dealer network and sales team to help implement Yutong’s strategies, drive sales, and increase our footprint throughout Australia,” he said.
