Penske Commercial Vehicles has expanded its truck rental business in Australia, the firm announcing today that it has opened a new Penske Truck Rental branch in Melbourne.
The new office is located at 488 Blackshaws Road, Altona North, at Penske Power Systems – the business that was formerly known as MTU Detroit Diesel Australia before it was acquired by Penske Automotive late last year.
Offering a range of truck rentals and full-service leasing arrangements, the Melbourne branch of Penske Truck Rentals complements the existing outlet Brisbane Truck Centre at (1543 Ipswich Road, Rocklea) which opened in August last year.
Open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturdays from 8am to 12pm, the new branch offers rentals spanning MAN TGS 540 and TGS 480 6×4 sleepers (B-double rated) and Western Star 5800 6×4 sleepers (B-double and road train rated), along with Freightliner Coronado 6×4 day cabs (also B-double rated).
In addition to the rentals, the business offers full-service truck leasing plans that can provide operators with custom vehicle specs, vehicle acquisition, routine preventative maintenance, roadside assistance and vehicle legalisation. Here in Australia, Penske Truck Rental provides leasing plans for MAN, Freightliner and Western Star trucks.
According to Don Mikes, Senior Vice President of Truck Rental for Penske, there are more outlets in the pipeline.
“This is our second office in Australia and we anticipate opening three additional locations over the next 12 months,” he said.
Penske has offered truck leasing in North America for 46 years.
