Sergio Carboni has been appointed the man to lead the charge in Penske’s revival of the MAN brand in Australia, taking the newly created role of national sales manager.
MAN sold 303 trucks in Australia last year, up from 266 in 2015.
Carboni joins Penske Commercial Vehicles, the distributor for MAN, Western Star and Dennis Eagle following stints in sales and business management roles at Cummins South Pacific.
“Sergio has held a range of roles in sales and business development across various industries including automotive, engineering, building and construction,” said Kevin Dennis, Penske Commercial Vehicles managing director.
“He also brings a proven history of strategy execution and excellent customer and dealer relations.
“In this role, which has been newly created to place greater emphasis on the MAN offering in Australia, Sergio will report to Mark Mello, General Manager – Truck Sales.”
Carboni credited the knowledge of the MAN team and says he looks forward to making inroads.
“As the sole Australian distributor of MAN trucks for over 17 years, the team at Penske has a wealth of knowledge about the product offering,” Carboni said.
“So I am looking forward to contributing to the already thriving team,” he said.
