Leading truck insurer, NTI, has announced it is offering the opportunity to bid at auction on the its restored, custom1946 Ford Jail Bar pick up truck
In a moment that restoration enthusiasts have been waiting for the big ticket item will be up for grabs as part of theAustralian Trucking Association’s 2020 ATA Live Industry Broadcast Event online auction, open to anyone over the age of 18in Australia.
The ATA’s annual event will take on a different format due to Covid restrictions, but NTI’s CEO, Tony Clark said 2020 is theperfect opportunity to do something “a little different” to raise much needed funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
“Whilst 2020 has presented some challenges around fundraising, it hasn’t challenged our commitment to the cause. To date,we’ve raised over $330,000 for MND and we’ll continue to seek answers for this aggressive and indiscriminate disease thatimpacts thousands of Australians and their families, every year.”
NTI’s history of supporting research into MND lead to establishing an official research grant in 2019,
in memory of NTI’s previous CEO Wayne, the Paterson.
“Our restoration projects allow Wayne’s legacy to live on and for NTI to give back in so many ways – be it through raisingmoney for research, engaging with community or supporting local businesses,” said Mr Clark.
“But the story is much bigger than NTI just building a truck. The truck is a culmination of dedication; a passion project with agreater purpose. And in the current climate – we can all do with a little more sense of purpose.”
The live auction will take place Wednesday 23rd September at 5:30pm AEST. All proceeds from the truck auction will go to MND Australia for awarding the NTI Research Grant for 2021.
