Volvo Group Australia has announced the appointment of a new vice president, of its UD Trucks Australia operation with long time employee Philippa Wood being named as the new chief for the Japanese truck brand in Australia.
Wood’s elevation to vice president, UD Trucks Australia will also see her become a part of the wider Volvo Group Australia leadership team.
Wood most recently held the position of Volvo Trucks sales manager and comes to the new role with a background in sales, marketing and strategy in both local and international automotive segments.
“This is a very exciting time to be joining UD Trucks, and I’m very much looking forward to being an integral part of the growth of UD here in Australia,” said Wood.
“For over 50 years UD has forged an enviable, hard-earned reputation for durability, efficiency, and productivity with Australian trucking customers and it’s a privilege to be joining the UD team at a time of unprecedented success for the brand,” she said.
“The future looks very bright indeed for our customers, our dealer network and, of course for UD Trucks Australia,” Wood added.
Wood joined Volvo Group Australia in 2014 as part of the brand, marketing and communications team before moving across to the VGA company owned retail business in 2020. Previous sales and marketing roles with Ford Motor Company in the UK where she delivered award winning launch campaigns, whilst driving exceptional customer outcomes.
