NEW KANGOO VARIANTS JUMP INTO AUSSIE MARKET- RENAULT ANNOUNCES THREE NEW PETROL MINI VANS

Renault has announced an expansion of its Kangoo van range which has been bolstered with the arrival of three new petrol variants, giving buyers of the compact van more choice for business transportation needs.

“With its bold, contemporary exterior design, a brand-new interior and the latest in driver assistance technologies including AEBS with pedestrian, cyclist and junction detection new Renault Kangoo is a proven and valuable tool for small businesses,” said Renault Australia’s general manager. Glen Sealey.

“Having been recognised overseas with a raft of prestigious awards including International Van of the Year 2022 and the What Van? Awards 2024 Compact Van of the Year, we’re delighted to bring further variants of Kangoo range to the Australian market,” Sealey added.

Renault says that the Kangoo range now starts with a short wheelbase 1.3-litre petrol manual, moving up to the SWB 1.3-litre petrol EDC (Dual Clutch) automatic and then the long wheelbase 1.3 petrol EDC , along with the SWB and LWB E-Tech 100 per cent electric Kangoo variants.

In announcing the three new model variants Renault revealed the  pricing  will see the SWB petrol 1.3L manual with a recommended retail of $38,990, the SWB petrol 1.3L EDC  auto at  an rep of $41,990 and the LWB petrol 1.3L EDC auto at  $43,990.

The company added that all Kangoo versions come  with a six-way adjustable driver’s seat and a four-way adjustable front passenger seat, claiming he ergonomic and practical cabin has up to 41.2 litres of useful and accessible storage, as well as the latest generation of ADAS.

The Kangoo is also equipped  with an eight-inch  infotainment system equipped with wireless smartphone replication,  while it is available in a range of body colours, and with options and packs to suit trades and businesses of all types.

The Kangoo comes with a load volume of up to 4.2 cubic metres and a payload of  up to 756kg, along with a 1,500kg of towing capacity, while its turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivers 96kW of power and 240Nm of torque, providing strong fuel efficiency with a combined cycle of 6.2-litres per 100km for the LWB and SWB  seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The six-speed manual is only slightly more thirsty with a consumption of 6.4L/100km .

Renault says the petrol Kangoo also comes with automatic headlights and wipers, 4.2-inch TFT driver information display, reversing camera, rear parking sensors, electric front windows, manual air conditioning, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, automatic stop/start and a full-size spare wheel.

It added that the Kangoo range features  an array of safety features  AEBS pedestrian, cyclist and junction detection, hill start assist, lane departure warning, and cruise control with speed limiter.

In addition it said that it has a wide selection of optional extras available, including wireless smartphone charging, adaptive cruise control, smart digital rear-view camera, and several electronic driver aids such as blind spot warning and intervention, driver attention alert, and high beam assist.

As well as that Renault says that it has a number of accessory packs available  including the $3200 Business Pack, which features  tyre pressure monitoring, a hands-free key card, body-coloured outer door handles, climate control air conditioning, adaptive cruise, centre console with armrest and storage, wireless smartphone charger, extra tinted rear barn door glass, front fog lamps and LED headlights

There is also the $1200 Trade Pack with number floor lining, full height wall lining in the cargo area, yard kit underbody protection and LED lighting in the cargo area.

along with those there is something called the Peace of Mind Pack  which for  $1,500 provides blind spot intervention, front, rear and side parking sensors, driver attention alert, high beam assist, navigation and overspeed prevention and traffic sign recognition

Buyers can also choose from a number of other options including gaining an additional 200kg payload  on the SWB only , which will set you back  $600, the $800 smart rear-view mirror,  glazed left and right sliding doors for $400  and a no cost option of  choosing to not have the right and side  on SWB models.

The company also revealed that you can have the Kangoo in any colour  for free so long as it is  mineral white or urban grey (silver). For another 800 smackers you can choose diamond black metallic, oyster grey metallic, highland grey metallic, or Garmin red metallic.

Renault informs us that  the petrol Kangoo range  is covered by a  five-year / 200,000kilometre warranty
