LDV DELIVERS MORE SAFETY AND CLEANER ENGINE IN DELIVER 9 VAN AND BUS

Chinese commercial vehicle brand LDV has announced a raft of upgrades to its  next generation upgrade of its Deliver 9 van, cab-chassis and bus line up  which the company says will be accompanied by a price rise of between $790 and $4685, depending on the model.

The headline changes  according to LDV include a gold rating in ANCAP’s Commercial Van Safety Comparison, as well as  a new seven-year / 200,000-kilometre warranty and the adoption of a Euro 6 compliant diesel engine.

The company claims the upgraded Deliver 9 van and bus deliver an increase in power, a raft of technical changes, and an improved suite of safety features, which it says will help to cement its position as one of the best value van and bus ranges available.

“Commercial vehicles are the bread and butter of our business so it’s critical we continue to innovate and improve our product offering,” said LDV Automotive’s general manager Dinesh Chinnappa.

“Alongside these significant model year changes comes  the. new seven-year / 200,000km warranty, the  gold safety rating from ANCAP for the van, sharp driveway pricing and capped price servicing to ensure fleet buyers have the fullest picture of just how competitive LDV commercial vehicles are.

As well as the new Euro 6-compliant engines, the MY24 Deliver 9 van and bus models are now visually distinguished by a new gloss black radiator grille .

Euro 6 emissions standards are due to come into force  on 1 December 2025 , and these impose strict limits on commercial vehicle emissions, particularly certain harmful gases including nitrous oxides, hydrocarbons and particulate matter.

LDV points out that to meet Euro 6 compliance, diesel passenger vehicles must not emit more than 80mg/km of NOx gases, while diesel light commercial vehicles must not exceed 125mg/km.

The  company also says the new engine in the Deliver 9 yields an increase of 20kW in power and 45Nm in torque compared to the previous model, with the new versions now rated at 128kW and 420Nm marking a substantial increase.

The company says  that as a result, the new Deliver 9 offers improved driving dynamics, bolstered by an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, which is also now included in the new T60 Max Plus. The company says that this facilitates the seamless transfer of this additional power to the rear wheels.

LDV says the upgraded models have also been boosted with standard safety features including blind spot detection, lane change assist, door opening warning, emergency lane keeping, electronic park brake, and front parking sensors

It says that these upgrades have been recently assessed by ANCAP, which has resulted in the Deliver 9 Van being upgraded from its previous bronze rating to its new gold rating, with the revised model scoring 74 peer cent in ANCAP’s Commercial Van Safety Comparison segments.

LDV reports that inside the Deliver 9 there is now a multifunction steering wheel which is connected to a new electric power steering system, that apparently makes tight turns and parking  much easier.

There is also a new adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality. Along with that there is a new upgraded 12.3-inch infotainment system, which is up from the 10.1-inch on the previous MY23 models. The new model also comes with Apple CarPlay and now Android Auto, along with digital radio and a high-definition rearview camera, which is only on the van and bus models, but not the cab-chassis truck variants

The company says that the long wheelbase medium and high roof vans also feature 236-degree opening cargo doors as standard, which it says delivers superior ease of access to the rear loading area.

LDV also says that the new capped price servicing  available on all MY24 Deliver 9 variants, equates to a total cost over three-years / 95,000km coming of $2,510.
