Isuzu has tradies in its sights with a range of ‘ready to work,’ short wheel base models, known as the Tradepack range, based on the NPR 55-55 and NPR 45-155.
The short wheel base models have a tighter turning circle than most utes and have been designed with driveways and regular parking spaces in mind, and also feature removable drop side aluminium trays, genuine bullbars and a towbar package.
Chief engineer Simon Humphries says the design team was conscious drivability would be a key criterion for tradies.
“Although every feature of the Ready to Work range has been crafted for optimal form and function, the short wheel base is a real game-changer for tradies who’ve outgrown their traditional utility vehicles, but still want the ease of driving and parking,” Humphries said.
“It offers much more flexibility for tradespeople who work in residential and commercial areas. It’s about instilling the confidence when driving into a driveway or commercial car park that you can park safely and legally.”
The Premium Tradepack uses the NPR 55-155 with 114kW and a GVM of 5,500kg, while the car license drivable NPR 45-155, 4,500kg GVM model opens the range up to even more tradies.
The Premium Tradepack also features a foldaway access step, and underbody-mounted 23 litre water tank.
All 12 trucks in the Ready to Work range come complete with factory fitted bodies covered under the Isuzu warranty, as well as ABS brakes, traction control and electronic stability control.
“The range is a real turning point in the light-duty market, with enough options to cater to every application imaginable,” Humphries added.
