INLAND INHAND – PACCAR ANNOUNCES NEW OWNERS FOR KEY INLAND NSW DEALERSHIP GROUP

Paccar Australia has announce  that  one of its key dealerships in NSW has changed hands with  RDO Australia Group successfully acquiring Inland Truck Centres  in Dubbo, Griffith, Orange and Wagga Wagga.

Inland Truck Centres  grew out of  an agricultural machinery dealership company originally started in 1968 by Peter Swane in the small Western NSW town of Warren.

The company, originally known as Peter Swane Machinery  expanded to Dubbo in 1970 offering second hand trucks to customers, as well as farm equipment and rural products. Peter Swane Machinery became a Kenworth dealer in 1975 with trucks becoming the core focus of the business.

Peter’s son Cliff, worked  in the business for several years, before being promoted to managing director in 1993 and has guided the company ever since, remaining a   Paccar truck and parts dealer, and a Cummins aftersales support dealer throughout that time.

In 2001 the company changed its name to Inland Truck Centres to better reflect the expansion of the business into the NSW Riverina region and the core business focus of truck sales and support.

Paccar Australia thanked Cliff Swane and his family for the vision, dedication and  support for Kenworth and DAF customers over 48 years, citing it as a truly significant milestone for any business operating in the transport sector.

Managing director of Paccar Australia, Damian Smethurst praised Cliff and Veramae Swane for their leadership of Inland Truck Centres over the past 30 years.

“Cliff Swane is a legend of the Australian transport industry. He has dedicated his career to servicing the NSW Riverina region, his community, and our brands. The Paccar Dealer network is stronger because of Cliff’s contribution and dedication.”

“RDO will continue to build upon this legacy. RDO is led by locals who understand our farming and construction sectors. RDO is a world class partner and has PACCAR’s full support and we warmly welcome the RDO team and look forward to their contribution,” Smethurst added.

Phil Canning, president and CEO of RDO Equipment, said  he was excited to welcome Inland Truck Centres to the RDO family and to join Paccar in their dedication to leading brands and the Australians who rely upon them.

“Our businesses share a commitment to innovation, industry advocacy, and providing the highest level of support to customers who are performing critical nation-building work.,” said Canning.

“RDO recognises Inland Truck Centres as a robust, quality business defined by great people, world class products and visionary leadership, and we look forward to building upon this legacy over time,” he said.

“Inland Truck Centres customers will continue to see the familiar Inland Truck Centres team at all its locations, and will be further supported by the expertise and resources of RDO Equipment’s global network,” Canning concluded
