The VFACTS data has been released and shows heavy commercial vehicle sales in Australia in March remained a tad behind 2023 numbers.
In total, 4,344 new heavy commercial vehicles were delivered to new owners in the month, that total is down on the same month last year by just over 4%.
Year to date the category was down 2.0% at the end of March.
Light commercial vehicle sales totaled 23,061, a 4.8% improvement on March 2023.
Isuzu took the trophy in the heavy commercial vehicle race with 1,085 sales in the month, absorbing a solid 25% of the total market.
Hino scored 454 deliveries to take the silver medal, ahead of Volvo (373), Mercedes-Benz Vans (320) and Fuso (309).
The biggest mover in the market was Iveco with a better than 40% sales total increase on the same month last year. While year-to-date Scania is blazing ahead with a better than 50% jump in new vehicle deliveries compared to the same period in 2023.
