Major truck dealer operation, the Velocity Vehicle Group has announced it has appointed Richard Higgins as the new president of its Velocity Truck Centres operation in Australia.
The promotion of Higgins to the presidents role will see him continue to be responsible for managing the operations of all 17 Velocity Truck Centres in Australia, overseeing its overall strategy, and ensuring its strong performance for our customers.
Since first joining VVG in 2021,. Higgins has served as the executive vice president. and during that time, he has according to the VVG statement, ‘driven a number of important improvements, including completing the integration of the acquisition from Eagers Automotive, bringing consistent policies and processes across the locations, implementing a new business management system, completing additional acquisitions in Huntingwood, NSW, and Broome, WA, and building a management team to continue to raise the level of service provided by Velocity Truck Centres for the future.’
Co-presidents of VVG, Brad Fauvre and Conan Barker said Higgin has done a terrific job in leading a very complicated change process while servicing our customers based on our mission of speed, value, and trust.
“We are encouraged at the prospect of continuing to realize more improvements within our Australia operations under his leadership. We have a long way to go to sell more vehicles and raise our level of customer service and we are confident that we are on the right track to get there,” they said.
VTC sells and services commercial vehicles exclusively for Daimler Truck brands Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Fuso, as well as also handling Mercedes Benz vans.
In North America VVG also operates 65 commercial vehicle dealership locations in the US across California, Arizona, Nevada, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Hawaii. VVG also operates 8 locations in Baja California, Mexico.
