HINO CLAIMS SAFETY CHAMPIONS GONG

Hino has announced it has been recognised as a transport safety leader at the tenth anniversary of something called  the  ‘Australasian Fleet Champions Awards’,  recently.

The Fleet Champions Awards  are run by a global road safety charity called Brake, and recognise the achievement of ‘those working to help reduce the number of road crashes involving at-work drivers in Australia and New Zealand’.

The high levels of standard safety features in the 500 Series Standard Cab and 300 Series trucks were highly commended by the panel of judges.

Daniel Petrovski, Hino’s manager for product strategy accepted the award via a virtual presentation event.

“Both the 500 Series Standard Cab (2019) and 300 Series (2020) trucks boast class-leading active safety packages with Hino SmartSafe, a comprehensive safety package with advanced driver-assist technology that takes an active focus in protecting the life of drivers,” Petrovski said.

Hino says its SmartSafe package includes a Pre Collision System including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Anti-Lock Braking System and more. The 500 Series Standard Cab also features Adaptive Cruise Control.

“Over the last five years of new product introductions at Hino Australia, safety has been a central design principle and we’re proud that we have led the safety specifications, with other manufacturers set to follow,” he continued.

“The sales success of the 500 Series Standard Cab and the 300 Series have reinforced our customers’ desire for high levels of safety – recognition at national and international awards such as this further emphasise Hino Australia’s commitment to road safety.” said Petrovski.
