HINO CELEBRATES ITS BEST DEALERS

Along with the rollout of  race team sponsorships, this time of year is also awards season for the truck industry with the annual proliferation of dealer of the year awards  press releases starting to land in our email in box.

Hino Australia is close to being first off the mark this year when it comes to recognising its outstanding dealer performances in the year just passed. The 2024 Hino awards were held at the Langham on the Gold Coast last Saturday 22ndFebruary.

Hino celebrated with it dealer by recognising its top dealers for the year at its annual Dealer of the Year Awards, with a couple of first timers winning both the major metro market gong as well as the award fro the best regional dealer in 2024.

The Metropolitan Dealer of the Year was awarded to Sydney’s City Hino, the first time the Sydney operation has won that award, while  similarly Tas Hino won the regional equivalent for the first time.

“Each year, our Dealer of the Year awards allow us to recognise the efforts of all Hino dealerships and their teams and also highlight the success of the top dealer groups,” said Hino Australia president and CEO, Richard Emery.

“For the Tas Hino team, this award is reflective of their vision, investment and perseverance, particularly over the last two years since Ed Jones and his business partners bought the Tasmanian Hino dealer franchises,” said Emery.

“City Hino is a deserving recipient of the Metropolitan award– this title reinforces the team’s hard work, and also the multi-million dollar investment from Suttons Group at the Arndell Park dealership,” he said.

Collecting the Metropolitan Dealer of the Year Award, Daniel Glynn, general manager of City Hino said it was  an honour to receive this award.

“It’s especially when I look around the room at the calibre of the other Hino dealerships,” said Glynn.

“This is a tribute to our team at City Hino which turns up every day as if it’s match day and are always prepared to go above and beyond for our customers.

“We are also very grateful for the support we have received from other Hino dealers and Hino Australia,” he concluded.

The City Hino team also took out  the Metro Parts Excellence Award  and, for the second consecutive year, took home the Hino Financial Services Excellence Award.

Troy Wood, dealer principal of Tas Hino accepted the award on behalf of his team.

“At last year’s awards ceremony, we won one award and were inspired by the other dealerships who won more – we made a commitment to ourselves that we wanted to be even better,” Wood said.

“We made a massive investment in our people, ensuring that we have the right people in the right positions, and we owe a great deal of gratitude to our people for the transition we have gone through over the last 18 months,” he continued.

Wood also acknowledged the collaborative and supportive nature of the Hino dealer network and the Hino Australia team.

Turnbull Hino claimed the Sales Excellence (Regional) and Customer Experience (Regional) awards, while CMI Hino Adelaide won the Sales Excellence (Metro) award for the second consecutive year.

It was a clean sweep of the Service Excellence awards for Sci-Fleet Hino with its Brisbane dealership winning the Metropolitan trophy and its Gold Coast franchise taking home the Regional equivalent.

In its 35th year as a Hino dealership, Sci-Fleet Brisbane also demonstrated its dedication to customers winning the Customer Experience Award (Metro).

Mildura business Johnson’s Truck & Coach Services was crowned the winner of the Parts Excellence Award (Regional).

The prestigious President’s Award was won by Sydney’s City Hino, Tas Hino, Wodonga’s Jacob Hino, Johnson’s Truck & Coach Service (Mildura), CMI Hino Adelaide and Sci Fleet Brisbane – for the latter two, it was their fourth consecutive year.

For the second year in a row, Adtrans Hino’s Stewart Scoon was awarded the Salesperson of the Year.
