Electric truck dristibutor Foton Mobility is claiming its all-electric Foton T5 is revolutionising the Australian transport industry with the announcement that it has introduced an ‘unmatched’ eight-year/400,000kms vehicle and power battery warranty, which it says is applicable to all existing and future sales of the Foton T5 all-electric truck in Australia.
Foton said it previously showed the way with an eigh-year/300,000km power battery warranty, which it says will now be extended by 100,000km, while the standard vehicle warranty will extend by three-year/200,000km.
Meanwhile, it says that all Foton T5 truck owners will continue to receive additional security via an NTI Truck Assist 24/7 roadside assistance offering for five-years/200,000km.
The company says the its Foton T5 model line-up is available from a dealer network stretching from Cairns to Perth, and that it is the currently led by the T5 EV, which it claims has dominated the pure-battery-powered truck sales race since its local launch.
The company said that the Foton T5 is the “worldwide leader in new energy commercial transport”, saying that it comes with an offering that has been proven in the field with many leading users.
“We are incredibly proud of the Foton T5 range, so the decision to offer the best warranty in the Australian truck marketplace is simple,” said Neil Wang, Foton Mobility Distribution founder and CEO.
“Obviously, the warranty demonstrates the high quality of our products and gives owners extra peace of mind,” Wang said.
“However, this move also provides a range of additional benefits and breaks down entry barriers for companies looking to make the switch to pure electric transport,” he added.
“Fleets can plan their servicing costs over an eight-year period, which extends to total cost of ownership benefits and better resale value.and financing and insurance will be easier to obtain, and Foton T5 owners can plan their future with greater confidence.
“A growing number of Australian businesses are finding the real value benefits of transitioning to new energy solutions, with the Foton T5 truly at the forefront,” Wang said.
The Foton says that the T5’s leading point of difference is its unique 3,500kg braked towing capacity, making it highly adaptable and capable of slotting into more fleet applications seamlessly.
Foton Mobility said that a leading example of the model in use is its ready-to-go T5 EV tipper, which it says features an Australian-made steel tipper body, making it ideal for use in municipalities and by landscaping operations according to the company.
The company said that another strength of the package is its flexibility, saying that the model is available with a rated GVM of 4,500kg for car licence operation, or 6,000kg for light rigid licenced drivers, with either option allowing for towing it added..
Foton said that from a financial perspective, the T5 truck features around 20 per cent lower upfront and operating costs, with fuel expenses gone forever.
The company said that uptime isn’t compromised for the package, claiming DC fast charging allowed for full recharging in 1.5 hours, or alternatively, the standard 11kW AC onboard charger that can fully recharge the drive battery in just 7.2 hours, allowing for overnight turnarounds.
Foton claims the T5 has a fully loaded range of 200 kilometres, while also offering a full safety suite, including a Low-Speed Pedestrian Warning System, a comprehensive electronic braking and stability support package, dual SRS airbags, as well as a reversing radar and buzzer.
