Ford has confirmed the full specifications for its updated Transit Custom Sport and Transit Custom Sport Double Cab ahead of their local release later this year.
Ford says its manufacturer list pricing for the Transit Custom Sport will see it start at $59,990, with the Transit Custom Sport Double Cab starting at $62,990.
the company says in its Transit Custom line-up, the Sport brings a number of exterior changes, including a body kit, 17” alloy wheels and signature Sport dual ‘racing’ stripes , which it says provide a “unique offering in the market”, and claiming they ensure customers stand out from the typical ‘white van’ crowd.
Ford says that customers will notice premium and sportier appearances in the interior layout, which it claims is due to the sports seat trim with blue accent stripes and the piano black trim surrounding the multi-function display.
The company claims that additional comfort is provided by a heated, 10-way power driver’s seat, which includes power lumbar adjustment and dual armrests and reckons that both drivers and passengers will appreciate dual zone climate control and a closeable upper glovebox equipped with dual USB-C charging ports.
“The addition of the Transit Custom Sport and Transit Custom Sport Double Cab strengthens our van line-up to one of the strongest in the country,” said Ford Australia’s product and retail marketing manager, Tony Jordan.
“It doesn’t matter if you are a sole trader looking to stand out from the crowd, or a larger business wanting a vehicle that can transport crew and equipment in equal measure, Ford has a breadth of commercial vehicles to suit all needs, with legendary capability to match,” he added.
Ford in its release said that both the Transit Custom Sport and Transit Custom Sport Double Cab in addition to features on Trend models, exterior styling and equipment includes, LED headlights, with something it calls LED DTRL signature, dual racing stripes, sport side decals, unique sports grille, sports body kit, soft close sliding side load doors, 17” matte black alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and LED taillights
in terms of the Transit Custom Sport interior features Ford says that in addition to features on Trend models, includes, sports trim with blue accent stripes, dual driver armrests, as well two USB-C ports on the driver side upper dash, dual zone climate control, soft trim, a cabin side metal bulkhead with a window, a closeable upper glovebox with dual USB-C charging ports
In the Transit Custom Sport Double Cab its interior features include a single eight-way manual passenger seat, dual passenger armrests, centre console with dual cupholders and retractable tambour door, carpeted cabin floor, relocated wireless charger, pop out latch style side rear windows, moulded bulkhead with window, ISOFIX outboard rear seats with upper anchorage points an rear door storage
Ford says the Transit Custom Sport and Transit Custom Sport Double Cab are expected to arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2024.
