Daimler’s managing director Daniel Whitehead has announced it is in discussion with several parties in New Zealand to take over the Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus distribution.
“We are talking to a number of potential parties, but we are not in a position to disclose their identity at this stage of the process,” said Whitehead.
“Our local team on the ground [in New Zealand] has done a fantastic job, but we think having a distributor with closer ties to the New Zealand market could deliver additional benefits for the Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz brands.”
“It is our intention that the process will be concluded by the end of this year,” Whitehead added.
