Daimler has unveiled a glitzy new Brisbane truck dealership with the Velocity Vehicle Group officially opened its impressive Daimler Trucks Brisbane dealership in the suburb of Darra on what is really Brisbane’s ‘Truck Central.
The new dealership is almost directly across the motorway from Paccar’s Brown and Hurley dealership and not far from Volvo’s HQ and dealership in Wacol.
The new ‘advanced’ dealership was constructed at a cost of more than $35 million to sell and support Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Freightliner and Fuso brands.
Velocity Group’s new dealership covers 9500 square metre and as we said is located on on the Ipswich Motor Way, which is a critical transport hub in Brisbane’s South West.
It boasts a 36‐bay workshop with two 29 metre B-Double pits, a shaker and roller tester, three wash bays, three express assessment bays and an external hardstand for 126 trucks.
The new dealership also features a separate service reception and service customer lounge in addition to a sales customer lounge.
It is the first all-new dealership constructed by the US based Velocity Group, which bought into the Australian Daimler Truck network last year.
Velocity Group Australia’s executive vice president, Richard Higgins, said the Daimler Trucks Brisbane dealership has been in the pipeline for a long time so it was a great feeling to finally move in.
“The new facility has already provided greater opportunities to service our customers with more bays and expanded parts storage and we feel fortunate with the timing as our old location was under underwater earlier in the year,” he said.
Velocity Group’s co presidents Brad Fauvre and Conan Barker and members of their team are currently in Australia and were impressed with the location and what the facility offers.
Daimler Truck Australia Pacific president and CEO, Daniel Whitehead, said the company is excited about the new Darra dealership and what it means for customers.

Daimler Trucks Brisbane General Manager, David Lowe, said customers are impressed with the new facility.

“The new facility allows us to better look after their needs and get them back on the road delivering for their customers,” he said.
Daimler says the new Brisbane operation will offer service across two shifts from 7am to 10pm and a full 24/7 breakdown service adding that it now also features a 33 per cent larger integrated parts warehouse to ensure that more parts are on hand for customers.
