CLEAR VISION – NATIONAL WINDSCREEN. ACQUIRE MELBOURNE’S ALPHA BUS GLASS

Major Australian windscreen supplier, National Windscreens has announced  it has acquired Melbourne based, Alpha Bus Glass, just a month after announcing its acquisition of Top End Windscreens and Tinting in Darwin.

The acquisition is the third for National Windscreens in the past six months and its second since the investment and ownership structure change  was announced by Nash Capital in March this year.  The company’s  third acquisition, that of Phoenix Glass in Brisbane, was announced in  late 2023

“This is only the beginning,” said  the Group’s CEO, Campbell Jones.

“We stated back in March, that with Nash Capital becoming a majority shareholder, it will bring a significant investment in people, facilities, equipment and expansion of our network through company owned branches,” said Jones.

“The announcement of the last two acquisitions, is testament to the investments we are making and the speed that we want to move with ,” Jones added.

Alpha Bus Glass is one of Melbourne’s leading independent glass replacement and repairers for the bus, coach and truck industry in Victoria.  The business was established more than 21 years ago, by owner Darrell Clark.

“This acquisition complements our acquisition in late 2023 in Brisbane, of Phoenix Glass, which is the largest bus and coach glass supplier in Queensland and is also the exclusive glass supplier to one of the largest bus fleet operators in the country, Brisbane City Council,” Jones said.

“In Alpha Bus Glass, we are demonstrating our intention to capture a far bigger slice of the on-highway market which is a space we have not been in previously,” he added.

“It is our intention to grow our business significantly, especially on the Eastern Seaboard, and with operations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Darwin already, we feel that a significant market share in this important market segment is achievable,” he said.

National Windscreens says its  ownership of Alpha Bus Glass is effective immediately and according to Jones, it will be business as usual  with a number short-term enhancements planned.

“We are genuinely excited about this acquisition of Alpha Bus Glass, which will be led by John and Craig Perrie, who collectivelyhave more than 50 years’ experience in bus and coach glass,  originally with their father who started Phoenix Glass in Brisbane,” Jones emphasised.

“Previous owner, Darrell  Clark and the  team have built a great business and we’re ecstatic they are supportive of our vision,” Jones added.

“The Alpha Bus Glass name will remain and we will be adding a range of new vehicle technology capabilities in ADAS and diagnostic services in the near future. We are excited to welcome the Alpha team to our quickly growing family,” he concluded.
