As the truck industry dealer awards season continues apace across all manufacturers, this week it was Daimler’s turn to roll out the red carpet and strike up the band.
As a twist on the usual Dealer of the Year gongs handed out each year Daimler also announced a new award for 2024 with the company revealing its Sustainable Dealer of the Year for the first time ever.
Before anyone gets the wrong idea, the Sustainable Dealer award is about being kind to the environment and ensuring a sustainable. ecological future, not just the art of staying in business and selling trucks.
Like all awards nights, Daimler also described its presentation even, which was staged in Melbourne last week, as ‘a glittering night’. We have no doubt that like the Oscars, Golden Globe and Emmys it was a truly glittering event.
Taking home the major glitter this year was RGM Maintenance, which was crowned as the Daimler Truck Dealer of the Year for 2024.
The first Daimler Truck Sustainable Dealer of the Year award went to Daimler Trucks Toowoomba.
Speaking at the event which was staged at Melbourne Park Centrepoint, Daimler Truck Australia Pacific president and CEO, Daniel Whitehead, praised RGM Maintenance for its win.
RGM is a company headed up by Russell Newman and Greg Jackson and which operates Daimler Truck dealerships in Townsville, Rockhampton, Mackay, Cairns and Darwin.
“RGM’s approach to customer service can be described with one word; awesome,” Whitehead said.
“Russell, Greg and everyone at all their dealerships put the customer first in every situation. This approach is right at the centre to their success and one of the key reasons we are so grateful they represent Daimler Truck,” he said.
In what appears to have been a huge night for RGM, given the Dealer of the Year award overall the operation also took out the Freightliner 2024 Regional Dealer of the Year award.
Daimler Trucks Perth was named the Freightliner 2024 Metropolitan Dealer of the Year.
Daimler Trucks Somerton was announced as the Mercedes-Benz Trucks 2024 Metropolitan Dealer of the Year, while Daimler Trucks Shepparton won the Mercedes-Benz Trucks 2024 Regional Dealer of the Year.
STM Trucks and Machinery took out the award for the Fuso 2024 Metropolitan Dealer of the Year, while Daimler Trucks Murwillumbah was announced as the Fuso 2024 Regional Dealer of the Year.
