Adelaide Trucks and Vans or ATV, has announced it has equipped its entire fleet with advanced vehicle dashcams and fleet management technology which it says boosting driver safety and operational efficiency for its customers.
The company says it has partnered with Australian GPS tracking and fleet management software provider, Linxio, to install its Vision dashcam technology in all 51 of ATV’s vehicles.
The company revealed that the cameras use Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, to enable them to identify risky driver behaviours including mobile phone use, unsecured seatbelts, harsh driving and detect if a driver is yawning or even micro-sleeping to prevent fatigue-related accidents.
ATV said the cameras can also notify drivers of potential road hazards, such as an approaching pedestrian. A voice assistant alerts drivers to potential risks and suggests corrective action with all footage transmitted in real-time to ATV fleet managers.
Mansij (Money) Bhan, ATV’s managing director said that the company’s partnership with Linxio reflects its commitment to safety and innovation.
“This investment represents a major step forward in our efforts to protect our drivers, improve road safety, and deliver even better service to our customers,” he said.
“The Linxio Vision dashcam and advanced fleet GPS tracking are providing immediate, actionable insights that have reduced accidents and enhanced operational efficiency.
“Our people are our greatest asset and this initiative is another demonstration of our commitment to exceeding the expectations of our customers.”
This collaboration aims to strengthen ATV’s chain of responsibility in line with National Heavy Vehicle Regulations, which ATV’ claims reinforces its leadership in the industry.
ATV has equipped vehicles with three high-definition Linxio cameras: a front-facing camera, a rear-facing camera monitoring freight, and a driver-facing cabin camera. The real-time footage means fleet managers can proactively assess driver performance, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Managers can ensure that adequate breaks are taken, and deliveries are on schedule, by monitoring when trucks are idle, stopped, or moving,
Sydney-based Linxio says it is a leading provider of fleet management and GPS tracking solutions with its technology used by more than 5000 customers worldwide.
Linxio general manager, Jimmy Mao said his company’s mission is to ensure every journey ends safely at home.
“Our focus is on providing innovative solutions that optimise fleet performance, improve operational efficiency and importantly, enhance safety for drivers and all road users,” Mao said.
