UD Trucks has announced that there will be 46 Australian teams with a total of 164 competitors taking part in the company’s global aftermarket competition, The Gemba Challenge.
Gemba loosely translates to “the place where value is created.” However UD says that for its customers, it reflects the ‘hard work that goes on behind the scenes to create a strong dependable ownership experience and is the cornerstone on which the UD brand is built’
UD says that round two of this year’s Gemba Challenge has just kicked off and closes on the 2ndAugust with the teams vying for a guaranteed place in the global final to be held at Ageo in Japan later this year.
UD says that the Gemba Challenge pits service and aftermarket teams against technical challenges in the workshop and that the competition culminates in a global final, where aftermarkets teams from around the globe will face off over workshop tasks.
“The fantastic engagement we’ve seen from our aftermarket teams during this competition so far really reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of our colleagues across the dealer network,” said Volvo Group Australia’s, vice president for services and retail development, Richard Singer.
“Knowing that our dealerships are staffed by some of the most professional and capable staff in the industry undoubtedly gives peace of mind to our customers,” said Singer.
“I look forward to seeing one of our dedicated teams bringing home a win at the global final and I congratulate them on their progress to date,” he added.
