The Australian Trucking Association has announced it has opened nominations for its 2024 Craig Roseneder Award for Technical and Maintenance Excellence.
The award is part of the ATA’s annual National Trucking Industry Awards and is sponsored by automotive lubricant company, Castrol.
Chair of the ATA, Mark Parry said, that the Craig Roseneder Award has honoured the professionalism and commitment of the men and women who work behind the scenes in Australia’s trucking workshops since 1998.
“The award is open to any individual who works full-time in the Australian trucking industry for a trucking company, supplier or commercial workshop as a workshop manager, mechanic or provides support within the maintenance field for heavy vehicles,” Parry said.
Past Craig Roseneder winner Dennis Roohan said the ability to rub shoulders with people who have 40, 50, 60 thousand pieces of equipment in their fleet is unbelievable.
“The knowledge that you gain from talking to these people how they run their maintenance, how they run their teams of people is invaluable,” Roohan said.
The ATA said that this year’s award winner will receive a fully paid trip to the USA to attend the 2025 US Technology and Maintenance Council annual meeting and the Transportation Technology Exhibition, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee from 10–13 March 2025, with the prize including full registration, return airfares, accommodation, and AUD1,500 spending money. The winner will also receive an introduction to the US conference team to assist them in getting the most out of the experience from both a presentation and participation standpoint. The prize also includes complimentary registration to the 2025 Australian Trucking Association Technology and Maintenance Conference.
Nominations for the award must be submitted before midnight (Canberra time), 25 August 2024.
