Penske Australia and New Zealand has revealed that it has been granted the distribution and support role for leading medium-speed engine manufacturer Bergen Engines.
Penske said this builds on its existing agreement for the land-based Bergen product range in Australia and New Zealand.
Bergen’s marine portfolio is claimed to be renowned for producing supreme quality products with high reliability, and is ideal for the propulsion of naval, large tugs, fishing vessels, ferries, and cruise ships, and also offshore oil and gas installations.
“With a very successful partnership to date with Bergen Engines, we are excited to be extending our relationship and expanding our customer offering,” said Matthew Smith, executive general manager of off-highway for Penske Australia and New Zealand.
“Now proudly representing Bergen on land and at sea, the addition of the Bergen marine portfolio also allows us to offer our marine customers regional support and complements our current offering of Rolls-Royce Power Systems’ mtu brand of engines.
“Giving us full market coverage, Bergen’s high-powered medium-speed marine engines are rated between 1,460 kW and 9,600 kW.”
