A small number of Mercedes-Benz vans commonly utilized by private car and limousine services have been recalled over an airbag issue.
The recall affects some 2021 Mercedes-Benz Vito and V-Class.
Announced on the Federal Government’s Vehicle Recalls website, a total of just seven vans are being recalled.
The recall notice advises that due to a hardware issue with the airbag control unit, the airbags may become deactivated.
What are the hazards?
If the airbag is deactivated in the event of an accident, this may increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
What should consumers do?
Consumers are asked to contact their most convenient Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible at no cost to them.
The Vehicle Recalls website has listed the VINs of the affected vans here.
