Well known truck industry identity, Peter Langworthy has announced he will be stepping down as managing director of Dana at the end of the year.
It is fair to say that during his seven year tenure at Dana, Langworthy has helped steer the company out of trouble particularly given its past dependence on supplying car maker Ford with components in Australia. With Ford pulling the shutters down on its factory a year ago that was not a long term business plan that was going to work for Dana.
Langworthy has moved the company from supplying components to Ford, to a more targeted supplier of axles, differentials and components to the truck industry and other automotive applications.
He consolidated the operation from a number of older facilities to a single, purpose-built plant and HQ in Keysborough in Melbourne’s east.
